The LT3092EST#PBF operates as a precision two-terminal current source using an internal 10uA reference current. **Current Setting**: An internal precision 10uA current flows out of the SET pin through an external resistor RSET. The voltage developed across RSET is buffered and applied to the output, forcing the same 10uA x RSET voltage across an internal 10 Ohm sense resistor, which sets the output current to IOUT = 10uA x RSET / 10 Ohm. **Two-Terminal Operation**: The device operates between its IN and OUT terminals. Current flows from IN through the internal pass transistor and sense resistor to OUT. The minimum operating voltage is 1.2V (IN to OUT), and the device can withstand up to 40V. **Protection Subsystem**: Reverse-battery protection prevents damage when input polarity is reversed. Internal current limiting and thermal shutdown protect against fault conditions. The device requires no output capacitor for stability.
