The TPS65130RGER is a dual-output DC-DC converter from TI in VQFN-24 (4x4mm), generating a positive output (boost, up to +15V, 250mA) and a negative output (inverting, down to -15V, 250mA) from a single 2.7-5.5V input. The positive boost converter uses current-mode control with an internal N-channel MOSFET. The FB pin voltage is regulated to 1.213V: VPOS = 1.213V x (1 + R1/R2). The negative inverting converter uses an inverting buck-boost topology: the inductor stores energy when the internal MOSFET is ON, and releases it to the negative output capacitor when the MOSFET is OFF. The FBN pin is referenced to the negative output (virtual ground at 0V relative to the negative rail). The EXTVDD pin can be connected to the positive output (>3.5V) to power the internal gate driver from the boosted rail, improving efficiency by 3-5%. The ENP and ENN pins independently enable the positive and negative outputs, allowing sequencing: the positive output must be stable before enabling the negative output to prevent start-up issues. The PGUP and PGDN (Power-Good) outputs indicate when each rail is within regulation. The 1.5MHz switching frequency keeps inductors small (3.3uH typical). Primary applications are TFT LCD bias supplies and OLED display power.
