The TPS3307-33DGNR from Texas Instruments is a triple-voltage microprocessor supervisory circuit in an 8-pin HVSSOP PowerPAD package. The 33 denotes monitoring 3.3V and 5V rails plus an adjustable input, DGN denotes the HVSSOP-8 (MSOP-8 with PowerPAD) package, and R denotes tape and reel. The device monitors three independent voltage rails simultaneously: SENSE1 monitors the 5V rail with a 4.55V threshold, SENSE2 monitors the 3.3V rail with a 2.93V threshold, and SENSE3 monitors an adjustable voltage above 1.25V set by an external resistor divider. If any monitored voltage falls below its threshold, the RESET output asserts low. After all voltages return above threshold, a fixed 200ms timer delays RESET de-assertion to ensure proper system initialization, with no external capacitor required. A manual reset input (MR) allows external reset triggering. Both active-low RESET and active-high RESET outputs are provided. The device is qualified for automotive applications and draws only 40uA maximum supply current.

The TPS3307-33DGNR operates through four subsystems: (1) Voltage Monitoring: Three independent voltage comparators with temperature-compensated reference monitor SENSE1 (4.55V threshold for 5V rail), SENSE2 (2.93V threshold for 3.3V rail), and SENSE3 (adjustable, >1.25V). Each comparator asserts an internal fault signal when its input drops below the threshold voltage with built-in hysteresis. (2) Reset Logic: The internal fault signals are OR-gated: if any one of the three monitored voltages drops below threshold, or if MR is pulled low, the RESET output asserts. The RESET output is guaranteed valid from VDD as low as 1.1V, ensuring reset protection even during VDD ramp-up. (3) Reset Timer: Once all SENSE inputs rise above their thresholds and MR is released, a 200ms fixed timer starts. RESET remains asserted for the full 200ms delay period, ensuring the supervised processor has adequate time to complete its power-on initialization. No external timing capacitor is needed. (4) Dual Outputs: Both active-low RESET (open-drain with internal pullup) and active-high RESET (push-pull) outputs are provided to accommodate different processor reset input requirements.
