The TL064IDR is a quad JFET-input operational amplifier from Texas Instruments in SOIC-14, offering the lowest power consumption in the TL06x/TL07x/TL08x family at only 200uA per channel. The JFET input stage provides extremely low input bias current (30pA typical) and high input impedance (10^12 ohms), making it suitable for high-impedance sensor interfaces where loading would introduce errors. The 1MHz gain-bandwidth product and 3.5V/us slew rate are adequate for most low-frequency signal conditioning, active filtering, and audio applications. The common-mode input range extends to VCC+ (a unique feature of the TL064), allowing single-supply operation with inputs near the positive rail. The I-grade (industrial) operates from -40°C to +85°C with 6mV max input offset voltage. The -DR suffix specifies SOIC-14, tape-and-reel. The TL064 is a cost-effective choice when the higher speed of the TL074 (3MHz GBW) is not needed and power consumption must be minimized.

The TL064IDR uses a JFET-input stage followed by a bipolar gain and output stage. The input stage consists of matched N-channel JFET differential pairs that convert the input voltage to a differential current. The JFET gates draw only 30pA of bias current (vs 50-100nA for bipolar inputs), preserving accuracy in high-impedance circuits. The JFET differential pair feeds a current-mirror active load that converts the differential signal to single-ended, providing the first voltage gain stage (approximately 40dB). The second gain stage is a common-emitter amplifier with an internal 18pF compensation capacitor that sets the 1MHz GBW and ensures stability at unity gain. The output stage is a class-AB push-pull emitter follower that can source and sink approximately 10mA with short-circuit protection. The 200uA/channel quiescent current (vs 700uA for TL074) is achieved by reducing the tail current in the JFET differential pair and the bias current in the gain stage. The tradeoff is lower GBW (1MHz vs 3MHz) and lower slew rate (3.5V/us vs 13V/us), but the power savings are significant in battery-operated equipment.
