The REF5025IDR is a precision 2.5V bandgap voltage reference with 3ppm/C temperature drift in SOIC-8. The core uses a bandgap reference circuit where two bipolar transistors with different emitter areas operate at different current densities, producing a proportional-to-absolute-temperature (PTAT) voltage. This PTAT voltage is summed with a complementary-to-absolute-temperature (CTAT) base-emitter voltage to produce a temperature-stable reference of approximately 1.2V (the silicon bandgap voltage). An internal amplifier and trimmed resistor network scale this to the precise 2.500V output. The TRIM/NR pin serves dual functions: connecting a capacitor to GND filters output noise (reducing from 6uVpp to 1.5uVpp with 1uF), or connecting a trim network allows fine adjustment of the output voltage by up to +/-6mV. The EN pin enables/disables the output, reducing supply current to 2uA when disabled.
