The UBX-G7020-KT from u-blox is a standalone multi-GNSS receiver module based on the u-blox 7 engine, supporting GPS, GLONASS, and QZSS constellations with 56 acquisition and 22 tracking channels. The suffix KT indicates the LCC package with tape and reel packaging. With -162dBm hot start sensitivity, -160dBm tracking sensitivity, and 2.5m CEP autonomous accuracy, it delivers reliable positioning for automotive and industrial applications. The low 22mA tracking current enables power-efficient continuous operation. Standard u-blox protocol over UART/I2C ensures easy integration with existing designs.

The UBX-G7020 operates through four subsystems: (1) RF Front-End: An LNA amplifies the GPS L1 (1575.42MHz) and GLONASS L1 (1602MHz) signals from the external antenna. A mixer downconverts the RF to IF for digitization. (2) Baseband Processing: The u-blox 7 correlator engine tracks up to 22 satellite channels simultaneously across GPS, GLONASS, and QZSS constellations. Multi-GNSS operation increases satellite availability and improves position accuracy, especially in urban canyons. (3) Navigation Processor: An embedded ARM processor computes position, velocity, and time (PVT) solutions at up to 10Hz update rate. It applies atmospheric correction models and satellite health data from the broadcast ephemeris. (4) Interface: Results are output via UART (9600-460800 baud) using standard NMEA sentences or proprietary u-blox binary protocol. I2C/DDC provides an alternative interface for embedded hosts.
