The STM32F427 operates through five subsystems: (1) Cortex-M4 Core with FPU: A 180MHz 32-bit RISC core with single-precision floating-point unit and DSP instructions (MAC, SAT, SIMD). The ART Accelerator caches Flash accesses with an instruction cache and branch cache, enabling 0-wait execution. The MPU enhances application security with memory protection regions. (2) Memory Architecture: 2MB Flash in dual banks allows concurrent read and write/erase. 256KB SRAM is split across domains with multi-AHB bus matrix for concurrent access. 64KB CCM RAM provides zero-wait data access but is accessible only by the CPU (not DMA). An external memory controller supports SDRAM, SRAM, NOR/NAND Flash. (3) Graphics Pipeline: The LCD-TFT controller drives displays up to XGA (1024×768) at 83MHz pixel clock. The DMA2D (Chrom-ART) accelerator performs memory-to-memory copy with pixel format conversion, alpha blending, and fill operations, offloading the CPU by up to 80%. (4) Communication Peripherals: USB HS OTG with dedicated DMA and ULPI interface for external HS PHY. Ethernet MAC with IEEE 1588v2 hardware timestamping for precision time protocol. Dual CAN 2.0B, 6x SPI (45Mbps), 4x USART/4x UART, 3x I2C, 2x SAI, 2x SDMMC. (5) Analog Peripherals: Three 12-bit ADCs at 2.4 MSPS each (7.2 MSPS in triple interleaved mode) with 16 channels. Two 12-bit DACs. Seventeen timers including 32-bit general-purpose and advanced motor control timers.
