The MCP6004T-I/SL from Microchip Technology is a quad general-purpose operational amplifier optimized for low-power, single-supply applications. With rail-to-rail input and output capability, it can process signals from ground to VDD without signal clipping. The 1 MHz gain bandwidth product and 0.6 V/us slew rate make it suitable for low-frequency signal conditioning. The extremely low input bias current of 1 pA allows direct interfacing with high-impedance sensors. Operating from 1.8V to 6.0V with 100uA per-amplifier quiescent current, it is ideal for battery-powered portable instruments.

The MCP6004T-I/SL employs a CMOS rail-to-rail operational amplifier architecture. **Input Stage**: A complementary PMOS/NMOS differential pair provides rail-to-rail common-mode input range from VSS-0.3V to VDD+0.3V. The MOS input stage results in virtually zero input bias current (1 pA typical). **Gain Stage**: A high-gain stage with internal compensation provides the 1 MHz gain-bandwidth product. The dominant pole compensation capacitor ensures unconditional stability with unity-gain feedback and capacitive loads up to 500pF. **Output Stage**: A CMOS push-pull output stage swings rail-to-rail, reaching within millivolts of both supply rails under light load. The output can source and sink up to 23mA. **Bias Circuit**: A low-power bias network consumes only 100uA per amplifier. The 90-degree phase margin provides excellent settling behavior and stability in feedback circuits.
