The M24256-BWMN6P is a 256Kbit (32KB) I2C EEPROM from STMicroelectronics in TSSOP-8. Memory is organized as 32768 x 8 bits with 128-byte page-write capability. The I2C interface supports standard (100kHz), fast (400kHz), and fast-mode-plus (1MHz) clock rates. Device addressing uses a 7-bit address composed of a fixed 4-bit preamble (1010) plus three user-configurable bits (E0-E2 pins), allowing up to 8 devices on the same bus. The write cycle: 1) Master sends START + device address + WRITE bit, 2) Master sends 16-bit word address, 3) Master sends up to 128 data bytes, 4) Master sends STOP to trigger internal write cycle (5ms max). The WC pin, when pulled low, protects the entire memory array from write operations. The device supports over 4 million write cycles per byte and retains data for over 200 years at 55C.
