The LTV-356T-B from Lite-On is a single-channel phototransistor optocoupler providing 3750 Vrms galvanic isolation in a compact SOP-4 package. The Grade B CTR range of 130-260% at IF=5mA ensures reliable signal transfer with minimal drive current. The device features 80V VCEO, low 200 mV VCE(sat), and comprehensive safety approvals (UL1577, VDE, CSA, CQC). The 30% smaller footprint compared to DIP-4 equivalents suits high-density PCB designs.

The LTV-356T-B pairs an infrared LED with a silicon phototransistor in an optically coupled isolation package. When current flows through the LED, emitted infrared light is detected by the phototransistor base region, causing collector current proportional to LED current (defined by CTR). The optical coupling provides electrical isolation while the SOP-4 package maintains creepage/clearance distances exceeding 5.0mm per safety requirements.
