The W25Q32JVSIQ from Winbond is a 32M-bit (4MB) Serial Flash memory device that supports Standard SPI, Dual SPI, and Quad SPI interfaces for high-performance read operations up to 533Mbps effective data rate (133MHz x 4 bits). The flexible erase architecture provides 4KB sectors for fine-grained updates, 32KB and 64KB blocks for bulk operations, and full chip erase. The device operates from 2.7V to 3.6V and draws only 1uA in deep power-down mode. Three 256-byte security registers with one-time programmable (OTP) lock support unique device identification and secure key storage. The SOIC-8 (208mil) package is the most common form factor for Serial Flash in embedded systems.

The W25Q32JVSIQ uses a NOR Flash memory array organized as 16384 programmable pages of 256 bytes each. The SPI interface uses a command-based protocol: the master asserts CS, sends an 8-bit command byte, followed by 24-bit address and optional dummy bytes, then reads or writes data. Read operations support Standard (1 data line), Dual Output (2 data lines), and Quad Output (4 data lines) modes. Write operations require the Write Enable command before each program or erase operation. Page Program writes up to 256 bytes at a time. Erase operations set all bits to 1 (FFh): Sector Erase (4KB), Block Erase (32KB/64KB), or Chip Erase. The Status Register indicates busy/ready state and write protection status. Quad mode requires setting the Quad Enable bit in Status Register-2.
