The STPS1045B is an automotive-grade power Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics with 45V reverse voltage, 10A forward current, only 0.57V forward voltage drop, AEC-Q101 qualified, in a TO-247 package, suitable for automotive DC-DC converters and power polarity protection.

The STPS1045B is a 10 A, 45 V Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics in a DPAK (TO-252) surface-mount package, designed for high-frequency switched-mode power supply applications. It features a low forward voltage drop of 0.50 V typical at 10 A and 125 C junction temperature, 175 C maximum junction temperature, and avalanche energy rating of 20 mJ for robustness against transient overvoltage. The guard-ring construction ensures reliable operation under surge conditions and the 3 C per watt junction-to-case thermal resistance enables efficient heat dissipation. Typical applications include output rectification, freewheeling diodes, reverse polarity protection, and battery charging circuits.

The STPS1045B is a Schottky barrier rectifier formed by a metal-semiconductor junction between a metal contact (typically chromium or molybdenum) and an N-type silicon epitaxial layer. Unlike conventional P-N junction diodes that rely on minority carrier injection, the Schottky junction conducts via majority carriers (electrons), eliminating reverse recovery charge and enabling extremely fast switching with negligible switching losses at high frequencies. The low forward voltage drop results from the lower barrier height of the metal-semiconductor junction compared to a P-N junction. The guard ring structure around the Schottky contact provides a resistive potential barrier that prevents localized electric field concentration at the junction periphery, improving reverse voltage withstand and surge current capability. The avalanche rating allows the device to absorb energy from voltage transients without failure, making it suitable for inductive load switching environments.

STPS1045B is a 10A/45V Schottky rectifier from ST in DPAK. The STPS10H100CG offers 100V rating for higher voltage applications. The MBRS1045T3G from onsemi provides 10A/45V in D2PAK with AEC-Q101 qualification. The VS-STPS1045 from Vishay offers the same rating (note: Vishay version is obsolete, ST version remains active). For dual Schottky, STPS20H100CF provides 20A/100V in D2PAK-3. The SS10P45 from Vishay offers 10A/45V in SMA with lower current rating.
