The MC9S08AW32CFGE is a member of NXP’s HCS08 family of 8-bit microcontrollers. It integrates 32KB of Flash program memory and 2KB of SRAM with a comprehensive set of peripherals targeted at cost-sensitive embedded control applications. The dual TPM timer modules provide up to 8 PWM channels for motor control and power conversion, while the dual SCI with LIN support enables multi-node communication in automotive and industrial networks. The 10-bit ADC with hardware trigger supports synchronized sampling with PWM outputs for motor control feedback.

The HCS08 CPU core executes an enhanced 8-bit instruction set at up to 40MHz bus frequency. The internal clock source (ICS) module generates the system clock from an internal or external reference using the frequency-locked loop (FLL). The TPM (Timer/PWM Module) channels can operate in input capture, output compare, or edge-aligned PWM modes. The ADC performs successive approximation conversion on any of 8 analog channels, with optional hardware trigger from the TPM for synchronized motor control sampling. The SCI modules support standard UART and LIN 1.3/2.0 protocol with break detection.
