The LFXP2-8E-5TN144I from Lattice Semiconductor is a low-cost, low-power FPGA from the LatticeXP2 family in a TQFP-144 (20x20mm) package. It features 8000 LUTs, 138Kbit distributed RAM, 138Kbit EBR SRAM, 8 DSP blocks, 2 PLLs, and up to 108 user I/Os. The -5 speed grade is the fastest available, and the I temperature rating covers -40°C to +85°C.

The LatticeXP2 family combines a look-up table based FPGA fabric with non-volatile Flash memory on a single chip. The LFXP2-8E-5TN144I provides 8000 LUT4 units, 18 blocks of 9Kbit embedded block RAM, and 8 hardware DSP blocks with 18×18 multipliers. The on-chip Flash enables instant-on operation without an external configuration device, and provides excellent design security. The -5 speed grade offers the fastest timing performance in the XP2 family.

The LFXP2 architecture consists of a programmable logic fabric built from PFU (Programmable Functional Unit) blocks, each containing four 4-input LUTs, dedicated carry logic, and wide gating functions. The PFU blocks can implement combinatorial logic, distributed RAM, or shift registers. The EBR (Embedded Block RAM) provides dedicated 9Kbit dual-port SRAM blocks for larger storage needs. The DSP blocks contain 18×18 hardware multipliers with accumulator logic for efficient DSP algorithm implementation. The on-chip Flash stores the configuration bitstream and transfers it to the SRAM configuration cells during power-up, enabling instant-on operation.
