The INA132UA/2K5 from Texas Instruments is a unity-gain difference amplifier with precision internal 40 kOhm resistor networks in a single SOIC-8 package. The device provides complete difference amplification with no external components, converting a differential input voltage to a single-ended output referenced to a user-set reference voltage. The 90 dB minimum CMRR ensures accurate differential measurement even in the presence of large common-mode voltages. Single-supply operation from 2.7 V to 36 V with input common-mode range including ground and output swing to within 100 mV of ground makes it ideal for low-side current sensing and battery monitoring. The 75 uV typical offset voltage supports accurate measurement of small differential signals.

The INA132UA/2K5 implements a classic three-op-amp difference amplifier using a single op amp with four precision-trimmed 40 kOhm thin-film resistors integrated on-chip. The output voltage is VOUT = (V+IN – V-IN) x GAIN + VREF, where GAIN = 1.0 (fixed by the internal 40k/40k resistor ratio) and VREF sets the output baseline. The 40 kOhm input impedance is determined by the internal resistor values. The CMRR of 90 dB depends on the matching accuracy of the four internal resistors, which are laser-trimmed during manufacturing. The reference pin allows the output to be offset from ground, useful for single-supply applications where the differential signal may be negative. The input common-mode range extends to 200 mV below the negative supply rail, enabling true ground-referenced sensing in single-supply systems.
