The STM32F042K6U6TR is built around the ARM Cortex-M0 processor core, a 32-bit RISC CPU executing a subset of the Thumb-2 instruction set. The internal 48MHz oscillator can be trimmed by the USB Clock Recovery System (CRS) to meet USB timing accuracy without an external crystal. On-chip peripherals connect via AHB and APB buses with DMA support for offloading data transfers. The nested vectored interrupt controller (NVIC) provides deterministic interrupt handling. Flash memory stores both program code and constant data, with read-while-write capability in dual-bank mode.
