The TL084CDT is a high-speed JFET-input quad operational amplifier from STMicroelectronics, fabricated using BiFET technology that combines matched high-voltage JFET and bipolar transistors on a single monolithic chip. Each of the four independent amplifiers features low input bias and offset currents, high input impedance, and a high slew rate of 16 V/µs. The JFET input stage allows the common-mode voltage range to extend up to the positive supply rail, enabling use in single-supply applications. The device is internally frequency compensated for unity-gain stability and includes output short-circuit protection.

Each amplifier channel in the TL084CDT consists of a JFET differential input pair that provides high input impedance and low bias current. The input stage feeds a bipolar gain stage that achieves the 4 MHz gain-bandwidth product. Internal Miller compensation capacitors ensure unity-gain stability without external components. The output stage is a class AB push-pull configuration capable of sourcing or sinking 40 mA with built-in short-circuit current limiting. The four amplifiers share common supply rails but operate independently, allowing each channel to be configured for different functions such as inverting amplification, non-inverting buffering, or active filtering.
