The FPF2700MX from onsemi’s AccuPower series is a high-side N-channel load switch with adjustable current limiting designed to protect systems and loads from overcurrent conditions. The device integrates a 88mΩ N-channel MOSFET with slew-rate controlled turn-on, preventing power bus disturbances during hot-swap events. Current limit is programmed via an external resistor on the ISET pin, adjustable from 0.4A to 2A minimum. The FPF2700 variant responds to overloads exceeding the blanking time by disconnecting the load and automatically retrying after a restart timer. Additional features include active-LOW ON control, undervoltage lockout, power-good output, and fault flag output for monitoring. The SOIC-8 package is suitable for space-constrained applications.

The FPF2700MX operates as a high-side N-channel MOSFET switch controlled by an internal charge pump that generates the gate drive voltage above the input supply. The ON pin (active LOW) enables the switch; when asserted, the charge pump drives the MOSFET gate with a controlled slew rate, limiting inrush current during hot-plug events. The ISET pin sets the current limit threshold through an external resistor to ground. When load current exceeds the programmed limit for a fixed blanking time, the FPF2700 disconnects the load and initiates an auto-restart sequence after a cool-down period. The Power Good (PGOOD) pin is an open-drain output that asserts when VOUT reaches 90% of VIN. The FLAGB pin indicates fault conditions (overcurrent, UVLO, or overtemperature) as an active-low open-drain signal. Overtemperature shutdown protects the device during sustained overload conditions.
