Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) are specialized chips for digital signal handling. They’re optimized for tasks like digital filtering, where they can remove unwanted frequencies from signals. For instance, in audio, low – pass DSP filters clean high – frequency noise. DSPs also rapidly compute the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), which changes time – based signals into frequency – based for analysis, crucial in comms for identifying signal features. They manage modulation (sending signals) and demodulation (receiving them) in communication systems. In adaptive signal processing, DSPs adjust to signal or environment changes, like in noise – canceling tech. For audio and video, DSPs enhance quality, compress data, etc. In motor control, they ensure precise operation by processing feedback signals.
