The LTC2950CTS8-2#TRPBF from Analog Devices is a micropower pushbutton ON/OFF controller designed to manage the power-up and power-down sequencing of electronic systems. The LTC2950-2 variant features an active-low EN output suitable for circuit breaker control. The device provides independently programmable ON and OFF debounce times (default 32 ms each, extendable with external capacitors) and a simple microprocessor interface via INT and KILL pins for graceful shutdown. The wide 2.7 V to 26.4 V operating range accommodates battery and industrial supplies. Only 6 µA typical quiescent current minimizes battery drain when the system is off. The internal KILL timer ensures failsafe power-down even if the microprocessor fails to respond.

The LTC2950CTS8-2#TRPBF manages system power through a pushbutton interface. When the PB pin is pulled to ground through a momentary switch, an internal debounce filter (adjustable via ONT capacitor) validates the press. Once validated, the EN output is asserted (active low for LTC2950-2, enabling a circuit breaker). The KILL pin monitors system health with a 0.6 V threshold. During power-up, KILL must be driven high within 512 ms or the enable is released (failsafe). To power down, a second PB press triggers the interrupt output (INT goes low), signaling the microprocessor to perform housekeeping. The KILL timer provides 1024 ms for shutdown. If KILL is not driven low within this window, the enable is released automatically. The PB input features ±10 kV ESD protection and an internal 100 kOhm pull-up resistor.
