The SSA-2-250A from Bel Fuse is a 1206 surface-mount fast-acting fuse rated at 2A/250VAC with 100A breaking capacity and 0.045 Ohm cold resistance for power supply and adapter overcurrent protection.

The fuse element is a precisely dimensioned metallic conductor within a ceramic body. When current exceeds the 2A rating, resistive heating causes the element to melt and interrupt the circuit. The fast-acting characteristic means the fuse opens quickly on overcurrent, protecting downstream sensitive components. The I2t value of 0.8 A2s quantifies the thermal energy required to melt the element.
