The REF2930AIDBZR is a Texas Instruments precision 3.0V voltage reference in a SOT-23-3 package, offering 0.05% initial accuracy and 8ppm/C temperature drift for high-precision analog applications. The 25uA quiescent current makes it suitable for battery-powered and always-on systems where power budget is critical. The 4.5uVpp noise (0.1Hz to 10Hz) ensures clean reference voltage for high-resolution ADCs and DACs. The device can source up to 20mA output current, sufficient for driving reference inputs of multiple converters without external buffering. The REF2930 uses a curvature-corrected bandgap architecture with chopper-stabilized amplifier for low drift and high initial accuracy. No external bypass capacitor is required for stability, though a 0.1uF capacitor improves noise performance. The A-grade offers 0.05% accuracy; standard grade offers 0.1%. Packaged in SOT-23-3 rated for -40C to +85C.

The REF2930 uses a precision bandgap voltage reference core with chopper-stabilized amplifier. The bandgap core generates a stable 1.2V reference by combining the complementary temperature coefficients of a base-emitter voltage (negative TC) and a PTAT (proportional to absolute temperature) voltage (positive TC). Chopper stabilization periodically auto-zeros the amplifier offset, reducing the offset drift to sub-microvolt levels and enabling the 8ppm/C overall temperature coefficient. A resistive divider and output buffer amplifier scale the 1.2V bandgap to the 3.0V output with 0.05% accuracy. The output stage can source up to 20mA with minimal load regulation error. The 25uA supply current is achieved through careful biasing of the bandgap core and output amplifier. The device does not require a bypass capacitor for stability, unlike many shunt references.
