The ISO7762FQDBQQ1 is a Texas Instruments AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified 6-channel digital isolator in a 16-pin SOIC DW package. The channel configuration of 2 forward (side 1 to side 2) and 4 reverse (side 2 to side 1) is optimized for applications with bidirectional communication where one direction has more signals than the other, such as SPI peripheral interfaces (MOSI/CLK forward, MISO/CS reverse). Each channel supports up to 150Mbps data rate with 11ns typical propagation delay. The 5000Vrms isolation rating (reinforced isolation per IEC 62368-1) provides safety isolation for mains-connected applications. The >100kV/us common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) ensures reliable data transmission in noisy switching environments such as motor drives and inverters with high dV/dt switching transients. The F suffix indicates fail-safe default output high when input is disconnected or unpowered. The Q1 suffix indicates AEC-Q100 Grade 1 (-40C to +125C) automotive qualification. The ISO7762 uses capacitive coupling with on-chip isolation capacitors and high-voltage SiO2 dielectric for data transfer across the isolation barrier. Packaged in SOIC-16 DW rated for -40C to +125C.

The ISO7762 uses capacitive isolation technology with two on-chip metal electrodes separated by a high-voltage SiO2 dielectric. Each channel consists of a transmitter on one side of the isolation barrier and a receiver on the other. The transmitter encodes the digital input signal using an on-off keying (OOK) modulation scheme: a single-ended-to-differential converter drives the isolation capacitors with a high-frequency carrier (approximately 700MHz) when the input is high, and stops the carrier when the input is low. The receiver demodulates the signal by detecting the carrier presence and reconstructing the digital output. The differential capacitive coupling rejects common-mode transients that affect both capacitors equally, achieving the >100kV/us CMTI. The 150Mbps data rate is supported by the wideband carrier frequency and fast receiver settling. The fail-safe feature biases the receiver output high when no carrier is detected (input disconnected, unpowered, or fault), preventing undefined downstream logic states. Each isolation channel operates independently with separate transmitter and receiver circuits on opposite sides of the die.
