The PIC18LF452-I/PT uses Microchip’s PIC18 enhanced RISC architecture with a 2-stage pipeline. Most instructions execute in a single cycle (100 ns at 40 MHz) using a 16-bit instruction word. The architecture features 32-bit wide instructions with a linear program memory addressing up to 2 MB. The 8×8 hardware multiplier completes operations in one cycle. Two CCP (Capture/Compare/PWM) modules provide 16-bit capture input, 16-bit compare output, and 10-bit PWM output. The MSSP (Master Synchronous Serial Port) supports SPI (clock rates up to 10 MHz) and I2C (master and slave modes at 400 kHz). The USART supports asynchronous serial communication with LIN, IrDA, and auto-baud detection. The 10-bit ADC uses a successive approximation register (SAR) with up to 8 analog inputs and programmable acquisition time.
