The LTC4415 from Analog Devices integrates two monolithic PowerPath ideal diodes, each capable of supplying up to 4A with a typical forward conduction resistance of 50mOhm. At low currents, the diode voltage drop is regulated to just 15mV, significantly extending usable supply range compared to Schottky diodes. The device operates from 1.7V to 5.5V, making it ideal for single-cell Li-Ion to 5V rail applications. Adjustable current limiting (0.5A to 4A per channel), soft-start, and thermal shutdown with warning outputs provide robust system protection.

The LTC4415 uses an internal MOSFET to emulate an ideal diode with near-zero forward drop. A regulation loop maintains 15mV across the MOSFET at low currents; as load increases, the MOSFET fully enhances, and conduction is determined by RDS(on). The EN1/EN2 inputs independently enable each diode and set priority. Current limiting is set via resistors on CLIM pins, which also provide a voltage proportional to diode current for monitoring. Open-drain STAT pins indicate forward conduction, while WARN pins alert when approaching thermal or overcurrent thresholds.
