The HIP4082IBZT from Renesas Electronics (formerly Intersil) is an 80 V full-bridge driver IC designed to drive four N-channel MOSFETs in an H-bridge configuration. The device integrates charge pumps for high-side gate drive and bootstrap capacitors for each half-bridge. Programmable dead-time via an external resistor prevents shoot-through currents. The driver supports both PWM and direct phase/enable control modes. Under-voltage lockout (UVLO) and shoot-through protection logic ensure safe operation. The 2.5 A peak output current capability enables driving large MOSFETs with low switching losses. The device is suitable for motor drive, class-D audio, and full-bridge power conversion applications.

The HIP4082IBZT drives four N-channel MOSFETs in a full H-bridge configuration. Two half-bridge drivers are integrated, each consisting of a high-side driver (for the high-side MOSFET) and a low-side driver. The high-side drivers use bootstrap capacitors charged through internal diodes to provide gate drive voltage above the supply rail. An internal charge pump maintains the bootstrap voltage during extended on-times. The programmable dead-time circuit inserts a delay between turning off one MOSFET and turning on the complementary MOSFET in each half-bridge leg, preventing shoot-through. Input logic can be configured for direct PWM control or phase/enable mode. UVLO disables all outputs when the supply voltage is below the minimum threshold.
