CA3140EZ

The CA3140EZ is a BiMOS operational amplifier from Renesas Electronics that integrates PMOS and bipolar transistors on a single chip. The MOSFET input stage provides extremely high input impedance (1.5Tohm typical) and ultra-low input bias current (10pA), making it ideal for high-impedance signal sources. With a 4.5MHz gain-bandwidth product and 9V/us slew rate, it offers excellent speed performance. The device is pin-compatible with the classic 741 op-amp and can directly replace it in most applications.

The CA3140EZ employs a BiMOS architecture combining PMOS input transistors with bipolar output stage. The PMOS differential input pair provides extremely high input impedance and near-zero input bias current. The bipolar output stage delivers 40mA output current with rail-to-rail input capability on the negative side. An internal 12pF compensation capacitor provides unity-gain stability. The strobe pin allows output gating by pulling the output to the negative rail. The device features offset null adjustment through pins 1 and 5.
