The A767MU107M1VLAE029 operates as a solid polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitor. The anode is formed from etched aluminum foil with a formed aluminum oxide dielectric layer, and the cathode uses a conductive polymer (typically PEDOT:PSS or polypyrrole) instead of liquid electrolyte. The solid polymer cathode provides several functional advantages: (1) the polymer has much higher conductivity than liquid electrolyte, resulting in ESR of 29mΩ vs 1-10Ω for wet aluminum; (2) the polymer does not evaporate or dry out, eliminating the lifetime-limiting mechanism of wet electrolytics; (3) the polymer is self-healing—if a dielectric defect causes a short circuit, the localized heating carbonizes the polymer around the defect, isolating it and preventing catastrophic failure. The ESR of 29mΩ at 120Hz enables high ripple current handling, with the ripple current rating increasing at higher frequencies per the compensation factor table.
