The 74HCT245D from Nexperia is an octal bidirectional bus transceiver with 3-state outputs and TTL-compatible input levels in an SOIC-20 package. With DIR direction control, OE output enable, and ±6 mA drive, it is ideal for bidirectional data communication between TTL and CMOS buses in 5V microprocessor systems.

The 74HCT245D provides bidirectional data transfer between two 8-bit buses (A and B) with TTL-compatible input thresholds. The DIR pin controls data flow direction: HIGH for A→B, LOW for B→A. The OE pin (active-LOW) enables or disables the outputs; when HIGH, both buses are isolated in high-impedance state. The HCT input stage accepts standard TTL logic levels (VIH=2.0V, VIL=0.8V) while the output provides CMOS rail-to-rail swings, making it an effective TTL-to-CMOS bus bridge. The eight non-inverting transceiver channels support 3-state outputs for multi-device bus sharing.
