The 0453001.MR operates as a single-use overcurrent protection device: 1) Normal Operation: At currents below the 1A rated value, the fuse element maintains a low resistance of 78mOhm, allowing normal circuit operation with minimal voltage drop. 2) Overcurrent Response: When current exceeds the fuse rating, the very fast-acting characteristic causes the fuse element to melt rapidly, interrupting the circuit before damage can occur to downstream components. The opening time decreases with increasing overcurrent (e.g., 210% of rating opens within 120s, 1000% opens within 20-150ms). 3) Fault Clearing: Once the fuse element melts, an arc may form momentarily but is quickly extinguished by the ceramic body filler material, safely clearing the fault within the interrupting rating limits.
