The CMF0402 50K5 0.1% 25PPM/K is a precision thin film chip resistor providing 50.5kOhm resistance with +/-0.1% tolerance and +/-25 ppm/°C temperature coefficient in a miniature 0402 package. Manufactured using a NiCr thin film alloy on a high-purity alumina substrate, it offers excellent long-term stability, low noise, and minimal voltage coefficient. The combination of tight tolerance and low TCR makes this resistor ideal for precision voltage dividers, feedback networks, and measurement circuits where accuracy and stability are paramount.

The CMF0402 precision resistor operates as a passive resistive element. 1) Thin Film Subsystem: A precisely controlled NiCr (nickel-chromium) alloy thin film is deposited on the alumina substrate via sputtering, then photolithographically patterned and laser-trimmed to achieve the target resistance of 50.5kOhm with +/-0.1% tolerance. 2) Stability Subsystem: The NiCr alloy formulation provides inherently low TCR (+/-25 ppm/°C), ensuring resistance variation remains within +/-0.25% over the -55°C to +155°C range. 3) Protection Subsystem: A conformal epoxy coating provides moisture and mechanical protection while maintaining thermal performance. 4) Termination Subsystem: Nickel barrier layer with tin-over-matte-tin plating ensures reliable solder joints and prevents solder leaching.
