The Littelfuse 0453001.MR is a very fast-acting surface-mount fuse from the 453 NANO2 series, designed for overcurrent protection in space-constrained applications. The 2410 package footprint provides a compact solution while maintaining a 125VAC/VDC rating and 1A current capacity. The very fast-acting characteristic ensures rapid response to overcurrent conditions, protecting sensitive downstream components. With 78mOhm resistance, the fuse minimizes voltage drop and power dissipation in normal operation. The 50A interrupting rating at 125V and 300A at 32VDC provides safe fault clearing. The UL and cURus approvals ensure regulatory compliance for safety-critical applications.

The 0453001.MR operates as a single-use overcurrent protection device: 1) Normal Operation: At currents below the 1A rated value, the fuse element maintains a low resistance of 78mOhm, allowing normal circuit operation with minimal voltage drop. 2) Overcurrent Response: When current exceeds the fuse rating, the very fast-acting characteristic causes the fuse element to melt rapidly, interrupting the circuit before damage can occur to downstream components. The opening time decreases with increasing overcurrent (e.g., 210% of rating opens within 120s, 1000% opens within 20-150ms). 3) Fault Clearing: Once the fuse element melts, an arc may form momentarily but is quickly extinguished by the ceramic body filler material, safely clearing the fault within the interrupting rating limits.
