The TIP32C is a PNP silicon power transistor in TO-220 package rated at -100V VCEO and -3A IC, complement to the TIP31C NPN. The 40W case dissipation rating with heatsink suits medium-power audio amplifiers, linear regulators, and motor drive circuits. Part of the TIP32 family (A=60V, B=80V, C=100V), the C suffix provides the highest voltage rating.

As a PNP power transistor, the TIP32C conducts collector current when the base is driven lower than the emitter. In linear mode, the transistor operates in the active region as an amplifier. In switching mode, it is driven between cutoff and saturation. The TO-220 package provides thermal contact to a heatsink through the metal tab (connected to collector).
