The module integrates a power amplifier (PA) with high linear output power, a low-noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass mode for receive sensitivity enhancement, and all necessary RF matching networks in a compact QFN surface-mount package. Both the PA input/output and LNA input/output are matched to 50 Ω, eliminating the need for external matching components. The RF blocks operate over a wide 2.0–4.8 V supply range suitable for battery-powered applications, while digital controls are compatible with 1.6–3.6 V CMOS logic levels.

The SKY66101-11 operates as an integrated RF front-end with transmit and receive paths: (1) Transmit Path — the PA amplifies the low-power RF input signal from the transceiver IC to the required output power level, with the integrated output match delivering the amplified signal to the 50 Ω antenna; (2) Receive Path — the LNA amplifies the weak received signal from the antenna with low noise figure, improving receiver sensitivity; the bypass mode routes the signal around the LNA for strong-signal conditions, reducing current consumption and preventing LNA saturation; (3) Mode Control — digital control pins (compatible with 1.6–3.6 V CMOS) select between transmit, receive (LNA), and bypass modes, with fast TX/RX switching for half-duplex ISM protocols; (4) Power Management — the wide supply voltage range (2.0–4.8 V) allows the FEM to operate across the battery discharge curve without a dedicated voltage regulator.
