The FT4232HL-TRAY from FTDI Chip is a quad-channel USB 2.0 Hi-Speed to UART/FIFO bridge IC. It provides four independent serial interface channels from a single USB Hi-Speed (480 Mbps) connection: two channels are configurable as UART with baud rates up to 12 Mbaud, and the other two channels support either UART or 245 FIFO mode for data streaming up to 8 MB/s. Channels A and B include FTDI’s MPSSE (Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine) for implementing SPI, I2C, and JTAG interfaces. The device integrates a 1.8 V voltage regulator, requiring only a single 3.3 V supply. FTDI provides royalty-free VCP and D2XX drivers for all major operating systems.
