The ATSAMA5D35A-CU from Microchip (formerly Atmel) is a high-performance embedded MPU based on the ARM Cortex-A5 core at 536 MHz with VFPv4 floating-point and NEON SIMD extensions. Part of the SAMA5D3 series, it features dual Ethernet MACs (Gigabit + 10/100), multiple USB 2.0 interfaces, hardware crypto accelerators, LCD controller, and extensive connectivity. The 324-LFBGA package supports DDR2/LPDDR/NAND external memory with 160 GPIOs.

The ATSAMA5D35A executes ARMv7-A instructions with NEON and VFPv4 for signal processing and floating-point workloads. The multi-layer bus matrix enables concurrent peripheral DMA access. Hardware security engines (AES, TDES, SHA, RSA) offload cryptography. The LCD controller drives displays without CPU intervention. Internal voltage regulators simplify power supply design.
