The XTR111AIDGQ is a precision voltage-to-current converter designed for 0-20mA and 4-20mA current-loop transmitter applications in VSSOP-10. The core circuit converts an input voltage (0-5V or 0-10V, set by VG resistor) to a proportional output current through an external NPN/PNP transistor or MOSFET. The internal precision 5V regulator provides power for external circuitry (DACs, sensors) up to 2mA. The output current is set by: IOUT = VIN x (1/RSET), where RSET is connected to the SET pin. For 0-20mA output from 0-5V input, RSET equals 250 Ohms. The EF (Error Flag) pin goes low when the output current cannot be maintained (open loop, over-temperature, or insufficient compliance voltage). The SPRG/SPRS pins allow internal or external current-sense resistor selection. The device achieves 0.001% linearity and 5ppm/C drift, suitable for precision industrial instrumentation.
