The TPS61165DRVR from TI is the tape-reel variant of the TPS61165DRVT 38V 1.2A boost LED driver with 1MHz switching and PWM dimming in WSON-6 for LED backlighting.

The TPS61165DRVR is identical in function to the TPS61165DRVT, being the tape-and-reel packaging variant of the same 38V 1.2A LED boost driver. It uses current-mode control with a 1MHz fixed-frequency integrated MOSFET switch. LED current is set by an external sense resistor on the FB pin (ILED = 500mV / RSET). The CTRL pin enables the device and accepts PWM dimming signals (200Hz-5kHz). Over-voltage protection at 1.2V on FB protects against open-LED conditions. The 1MHz switching frequency minimizes inductor size (2.2uH typical). The WSON-6 package (2x2mm) with exposed thermal pad provides efficient heat dissipation for the 1.2A internal switch. Efficiency typically exceeds 90% at 12V input with 6-8 LEDs in series.
