The TPS3110E15DBVR from Texas Instruments is an ultra-low supply current voltage supervisor with an integrated watchdog timer in a compact SOT-23-6 package. The E15 suffix indicates a 1.5 V threshold voltage with 0.75% accuracy for precise monitoring of low-voltage supply rails. The device draws only 1.2 µA typical supply current, making it ideal for battery-powered applications where standby current must be minimized. The push-pull active-low RESET output provides a defined logic level without external pull-up resistors. The integrated watchdog timer monitors microprocessor activity with a 1.6 second timeout, asserting RESET if the processor fails to toggle the WDI pin within the timeout period. A manual reset (MR) input allows system-initiated reset via a push-button or logic signal. The power-on reset generator provides a 130 ms timeout to ensure stable supply voltage before releasing RESET.

The TPS3110E15DBVR monitors the VDD supply voltage through an internal resistive divider that sets the threshold at 1.5 V (VIT-). When VDD drops below the threshold, the comparator output forces RESET low. When VDD rises above VIT- plus hysteresis, an internal timer starts counting 130 ms before releasing RESET high. The watchdog timer is a free-running oscillator that starts counting when WDI is not toggled. If WDI is not toggled within the watchdog timeout period (1.6 s typical), the watchdog asserts RESET low. Each WDI transition resets the watchdog counter. The manual reset (MR) input has an internal pull-up to VDD and asserts RESET low when driven below 0.4 V. All outputs are valid with VDD as low as 0.4 V, ensuring a defined reset state during power-up and power-down transients.
