The TPS26600PWPR from Texas Instruments is a 60V industrial eFuse providing comprehensive power path protection in a single IC. It integrates a 47 mOhm power MOSFET with programmable current limiting (0.6A to 5A), reverse polarity protection to -60V, overvoltage and undervoltage lockout, and adjustable inrush current control via output voltage slew rate. The device replaces discrete protection circuits including fuses, diodes, and MOSFETs with associated control circuitry, reducing BOM count and board space. It supports both auto-retry and latch-off fault response modes.

The TPS26600PWPR integrates an N-channel power MOSFET with a charge pump gate driver and comprehensive protection circuits. During startup, the gate driver controls the MOSFET slew rate (programmed via a capacitor on the dV/dt pin) to limit inrush current into the output capacitor. The current limit circuit senses the MOSFET current and compares it to the programmed threshold (set via ILIM resistor); when exceeded, the gate voltage is regulated to maintain the current at the limit. Reverse polarity protection uses an internal comparator to detect negative VIN and opens the MOSFET to block reverse current flow without requiring an external series diode. The UVLO/OVP comparators monitor the input voltage and disable the MOSFET when outside the programmed window.
