TPD2E007DCKR

The TPD2E007DCKR is a 2-channel ESD protection TVS diode array specifically designed for AC-coupled and negative-rail data interfaces from Texas Instruments. Unlike standard unidirectional ESD devices, its back-to-back diode configuration allows AC signals and negative-going waveforms to pass without clipping, making it ideal for audio, RS-232, RS-485, and LVDS interfaces. The device meets IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 with +/-8kV contact and +/-15kV air-gap discharge ratings. The compact 3-pin SC-70 package minimizes board space in portable applications.

The TPD2E007 uses a back-to-back diode configuration on each channel, with two TVS diodes connected in series opposing between the signal line and ground. This arrangement presents a high impedance to both positive and negative signal swings within the working voltage range (up to 13V peak). When an ESD transient exceeds the breakdown voltage (14V min), the diode avalanches and clamps the voltage, shunting the transient energy to ground. The back-to-back topology ensures that neither positive nor negative signal excursions are clipped during normal operation.
