The TLV62569DBVR is a high-efficiency synchronous step-down buck DC-DC converter from Texas Instruments, optimized for compact solution size and high efficiency. The device integrates low RDS(ON) switches (100mΩ high-side, 60mΩ low-side) capable of delivering up to 2A of output current. Operating from a 2.5V to 5.5V input range, it provides an adjustable output voltage from 0.6V to VIN via an external resistor divider. At medium to heavy loads, the device operates in PWM mode at a fixed 1.5MHz switching frequency. At light loads, it automatically enters Power Save Mode (PSM) to maintain high efficiency across the entire load range. The 100% duty cycle mode enables operation at the lowest possible dropout voltage. The device features internal soft start, overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, and a Power Good output.

The TLV62569 employs a current-mode PWM control architecture for stable operation. At medium and heavy loads, the device operates in forced PWM mode at 1.5MHz, providing low output ripple and fast transient response. When the load decreases below the PSM threshold, the device seamlessly enters Power Save Mode, which uses pulse frequency modulation (PFM) to reduce switching losses and maintain high efficiency. The internal synchronous rectifier replaces the external Schottky diode, improving efficiency especially at low output voltages. The FB pin receives the feedback voltage from the output resistor divider and regulates it to the 0.6V internal reference. Current-mode control provides cycle-by-cycle current limiting for robust overcurrent protection.
