The TLV62084ADSGT from TI is a 2A synchronous buck converter in 2x2mm WSON-8. Input range 2.7-6V with 0.5-4V adjustable output. DCS-Control architecture provides fast transient response with seamless PWM/PFM transition. 2MHz switching frequency minimizes inductor size (4.7µH). Integrated synchronous rectifier eliminates external Schottky diode. 100% duty cycle for lowest dropout. Power Good output and output discharge. DSGT suffix denotes WSON-8 tape-and-reel. Ideal for space-constrained POL converters.

Uses TI’s DCS-Control (Direct Control with Seamless transition) architecture, which combines voltage-mode control with a direct output voltage feedback path. In PWM mode, the device operates at 2MHz fixed frequency with peak current mode control for stability. When the load current drops below the PFM threshold, the device transitions seamlessly to Pulse Frequency Modulation mode, skipping pulses to maintain efficiency at light loads (22µA quiescent current). The 100% duty cycle mode turns the high-side MOSFET on continuously when the input voltage approaches the output voltage, minimizing dropout. The Power Good comparator monitors the output voltage via the FB pin and asserts PG when output is within 10% of the target.
