The TL082BCDT is a STMicroelectronics B-grade dual JFET-input operational amplifier offering high speed and high input impedance. The JFET input stage provides very low input bias current (typically 30pA), making it suitable for high-impedance sensor interfaces and sample-and-hold circuits. The 16V/us slew rate and 3MHz gain bandwidth support audio-frequency and medium-speed applications. The B-grade provides 3mV maximum offset voltage, while the C-grade specifies -40C to +85C operation. The wide common-mode voltage range extends to VCC+, and the output includes short-circuit protection. Internal frequency compensation ensures stability without external components. The device operates from +/-3.5V to +/-18V dual supplies in an industry-standard SOIC-8 package.

The TL082 uses a JFET-input differential pair for the input stage, providing extremely high input impedance (typically 10^12 ohms) and very low input bias current. The JFET inputs are followed by a bipolar gain stage and a class AB output stage with short-circuit protection. The JFET input stage also provides the wide common-mode voltage range, extending to the positive supply rail. The 16V/us slew rate results from the JFET input stage tail current charging the internal compensation capacitor. Internal compensation (dominant pole at approximately 10Hz) ensures unconditional stability in unity-gain configurations. The B-grade indicates trimmed offset voltage (3mV max) for improved DC precision.
