The SY8009AAAC is a high-efficiency synchronous step-down DC-DC regulator from Silergy Corp, capable of delivering up to 1.5A output current. Operating over a 3V to 5.5V input range with 1.5 MHz switching frequency, it integrates both main and synchronous switches with very low RDS(ON) to minimize conduction loss in a tiny SOT-23-5 package.

The SY8009AAAC from Silergy Corp is a high-efficiency synchronous step-down DC-DC regulator delivering up to 1.5A output. It integrates both high-side and low-side MOSFET switches with very low RDS(ON) to minimize conduction losses. The 1.5 MHz switching frequency enables the use of small external inductors and capacitors, resulting in a compact solution footprint ideal for space-constrained applications.

The SY8009AAAC operates as a current-mode synchronous buck converter. The internal high-side PFET and low-side NFET switches alternate to step down the input voltage to the desired output. A current-mode control loop provides fast transient response and cycle-by-cycle current limiting. The 0.6V reference voltage is compared with the FB pin voltage through the error amplifier, which adjusts the PWM duty cycle. Internal soft-start gradually ramps the output to prevent inrush current. At 100% duty cycle, the high-side switch stays on continuously for lowest dropout operation.
