The STM32L152RCT6 is an ultra-low-power 32-bit microcontroller from STMicroelectronics based on the ARM Cortex-M3 core, operating at up to 32MHz. It incorporates 256KB of Flash memory with ECC, 32KB of SRAM, and 8KB of true EEPROM with ECC, eliminating the need for flash-based EEPROM emulation. The device features an integrated LCD controller capable of driving up to 8×40 segments with a built-in step-up converter for contrast adjustment independent of supply voltage. Rich analog peripherals include two operational amplifiers, a 12-bit ADC at 1Msps, dual 12-bit DACs, and two ultra-low-power comparators. The USB 2.0 Full Speed interface uses an internal 48MHz PLL, requiring no external crystal for USB operation. Up to 23 capacitive sensing channels enable touch-sensing functionality without external components.

The STM32L152RCT6 employs a multi-domain power architecture to achieve ultra-low power consumption. The VCORE domain powers the Cortex-M3 core, Flash, and SRAM, with dynamic voltage scaling to optimize power at different frequency ranges. Multiple low-power modes include Run, Low-Power Run, Sleep, Low-Power Sleep, Stop (with or without RTC), and Standby (with or without RTC). The 8μs wakeup time from Stop mode enables responsive operation while maintaining low average current. The LCD controller operates independently in Stop mode, consuming minimal power while maintaining display content. The true EEPROM uses a dedicated charge pump and ECC for reliable non-volatile storage without the wear-leveling overhead of flash emulation.
