The SN74LVC244ARWPR is a Texas Instruments octal buffer and line driver organized as two independent 4-bit banks with separate output-enable (OE) inputs for 3-state control. It operates from 1.65 V to 3.6 V VCC while inputs accept voltages up to 5.5 V, enabling mixed-mode signal operation where 5 V input signals are translated down to the VCC level. The 5.9 ns maximum propagation delay at 3.3 V makes it suitable for high-speed bus interfacing. The Ioff feature supports live insertion, partial-power-down mode, and back-drive protection by disabling the output when VCC is 0 V. Latch-up performance exceeds 250 mA per JESD 17. The TSSOP-20 (RW) package is rated for -40C to +125C.

The SN74LVC244A contains eight CMOS buffers organized as two 4-bit banks, each controlled by an active-low output enable (1OE or 2OE). When OE is low, the corresponding outputs follow the inputs (Yn = An). When OE is high, the outputs are placed in a high-impedance (3-state) condition, allowing bus sharing with other devices. The input stage uses clamp diodes to accept voltages up to 5.5 V regardless of VCC, enabling down-translation from a 5 V bus to a 3.3 V level. The Ioff circuit disconnects the output stage when VCC is grounded, preventing parasitic current flow during live insertion or partial power-down scenarios.
