SN65HVD10D

The SN65HVD10D from Texas Instruments is a 3.3V RS-485 full-duplex transceiver supporting data rates up to 10Mbps. The full-duplex architecture provides separate differential driver outputs and receiver inputs for simultaneous bidirectional communication. The 1/2 unit load receiver impedance supports up to 64 transceivers on a single bus. With ±16kV HBM ESD protection and thermal shutdown, the device is robust for harsh industrial environments.

The SN65HVD10D operates as a full-duplex RS-485 transceiver with dedicated driver and receiver signal paths. The driver converts single-ended TTL/CMOS logic to differential RS-485 signals on the Y/Z output pair, while the receiver simultaneously converts differential signals on the A/B input pair. The 1/2 unit load design allows 64 nodes. Driver and receiver enables (DE, RE) independently control each path. The receiver failsafe ensures a logic-high RO output when the bus is open or all drivers are disabled.
