The RTD2486TD-GR is a Realtek display interface controller/scaler IC for LCD monitor and TV applications. It integrates all necessary functions for a complete display solution: multi-standard input processing (analog VGA, digital DVI/HDMI), high-quality scaling to match panel native resolution, color processing and enhancement, on-screen display (OSD) generation, and LVDS/TTL panel interface output. The scaling engine uses advanced interpolation algorithms for sharp, artifact-free image scaling. The integrated MCU with embedded Flash runs the monitor firmware. The DDC/CI interface enables PC-to-monitor communication. The -GR suffix indicates green/RoHS-compliant packaging.

The RTD2486TD-GR operates as a complete display signal processing chain. The analog VGA input is digitized by an internal triple ADC with PLL for pixel clock recovery. The digital DVI/HDMI input is decoded by the internal TMDS receiver. Input format detection automatically identifies timing and configures the processing pipeline. The scaling engine performs horizontal and vertical scaling using multi-tap FIR filters. Color processing performs gamma correction, color space conversion, and enhancement. The OSD generator overlays text on the image. The timing generator creates panel-specific signals. The LVDS transmitter serializes 24-bit RGB data into LVDS pairs.
