The core connects to Flash and SRAM through an error-correcting code (ECC) memory controller that detects and corrects single-bit errors and detects double-bit errors. The N2HET (High-End Timer) co-processor provides dedicated timing I/O for motor control PWM generation, quadrature encoder interface, and capture/compare functions independent of the main CPU. Clock monitoring circuits verify the integrity of oscillators and PLLs. The built-in self-test (BIST) mechanisms verify CPU and memory integrity at startup and during runtime.
